From 20th-26th November, 1914, the 2nd Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers of 12 Brigade, 4th Division, were in billets in Nieppe, just to the north of Armentières. The battalion diary makes no mention of any casualties during this period so there is, as yet, no explanation for the death of Herbert Sutton on 21st November, 1914. He could have been temporarily attached to another unit or quite simply his date of death may have been incorrectly recorded. |
